I've been writing articles for over ten years ... mostly about people because that's what I love doing the most. You can read some of my favourite ones in Writing Portfolio.
Copywriter / editor and Proofreader
I've also been writing / proofing for various
publications, press releases, brochures, advertising copy, reports, and
keywords in the healthcare, legal, entertainment, educational and cultural
sectors for over twenty years. Email me for samples of my work.
Film Scripts
Rainy days in London serve many purposes - one of which is learning something new. I've written several feature and short scripts so far. Email me if you'd like to know more.
Managing Editor, Skin Magazine
Amman, Jordan
I learned a lot about using the English language and myself in this always challenging
and sometimes fun position I held for three months. I'd
link to Skin if it were still alive and well but, sadly, it isn't.
MEDIA - RELATED
Co-coordinator and Publicist
Jerash Shorts Film Festival
I was lucky enough to make this idea a reality back in 2004 before the Jerash Festival became something else. Despite it's name, we screened short, documentary and feature films. I'm still quite proud of the fact that we caused waves and got some people riled up - always a good thing in a part of the world where freedom of speech is in short supply.
Again - happy to have been part of making the idea a reality. This was during my time as a publicist at Raindance, during which I learned that sometimes it's better NOT to shake the hand of a celebrity.
I didn't know how much fun teaching could be, until I taught two workshops - Business Communication Skills and Team
Building.
Private Tutoring, Written and Spoken English
all sorts of people all over the world
The first time I went to India in 1999 I met a little girl who remains my friend, although she isn't so little any more. I overheard her practicing her English homework and was horrified and amused at what she was being taught. I may suck at other languages, but I know my English. And like to help others get to know it as well.
I should write down all the reallyreallyreally good reasons
students come up with as to why they should be exempt from the rules
of taking the SAT exams (although I admit to secretly agreeing with
them on occasion). Even more respect goes out to all the teachers out
there.

I don't self-define the way governments force me to, but for the sake of argument let's just say I hold an American passport and an Egyptian passport - although I'm hoping someday the Jordanian government will let me have a Jordanian passport seeing as how my mom is Jordanian.
Camera
I own a Sony VX-2000 camcorder, which is broadcast quality and has been a good friend to me ... even though we have a mutually hands-on-only-when-necessary agreement [read: I'd rather someone else handles the electronic items].

The usual suspects plus Final Draft and a working knowledge of Avid, Premiere, Dreamweaver ... and various others.
